Yes, we're alive and well!

Well, can I just say that this last month or two has been extremely hectic? I don't know where my camera cord is so, no pictures for now. Well, we have been back and forth at my parents house since we moved to Utah. Although we have a place to live, it isn't the best, so on the weekends, we stay with my family. Our trailer has major issues. We are constantly popping breakers, or fuses and in that case all the power goes out in the trailer. The heat doesn't work, so we run space heaters all day and night because this thing has almost no insulation and gets cold. We have no place to store our stuff, so everything is just kind of there. I've organized and cleaned the best I can, so it will have to do. Hmm, what else can I complain about? Oh yeah, we are on a dirt driveway/road so everytime we go in and out of the house, it is a muddy mess. Okay, that's about it.
Otherwise, we are doing great. It has been so fun to be with my parents and siblings. Even though things are a little up in the air right now, being able to spend time with everyone makes it all worth it.
The kids are doing great. Eliza turned one a week or so ago. She isn't walking yet, but I imagine she will within a month or so. Callin has started his new school. There are 39 kids in the whole school (K-6). It is great. Trey and Else love being around their cousins.
Otherwise, I'll write more about what we're doing later.

Moving Day is here

Okay, well, we just picked up the moving truck yesterday. I can't believe we are really moving. I have very conflicting emotions about the whole thing. I'm excited, sad, nervous, overall it is pretty bittersweet. We have half the house already in the truck and the other half still to go. How did we accumulate so much STUFF? I don't have time to go through it all right now but have a feeling that I'll be getting rid of alot of stuff when we get to Utah. And my sister, Sheena is here helping out so we've had a lot of fun together. Oh, and we can't find our camera anywhere. The case is here but not the camera. I've asked the most likely culprits (our kids), but they don't know where it is. Hopefully, it will turn up...Good thing we bought the extended warranty.

Merry Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas everyone! We've had a wonderful Christmas Eve. Last night was lil jul aften (Little Christmas Eve) and we had the kids open new pajamas plus a couple of books. Then tonight, is jul aften (Christmas Eve) and the kids got to open another present. We ate a delicious Christmas dinner of Ham and all the fixings. Then we cleaned up and put the Christmas tree into the center of the room. Since we do partial Danish Christmas', we danced around the tree singing Christmas songs. Then the kids couldn't wait any longer and we let them open a present. My sister Leeanne made the boys these really neat treasure chests that are hand painted with little key and locks and an "authentic" treasure map and gold coins inside. They LOVE them. Else and Eliza got really cute toys from Christian and Hollie and Else kept hugging me and saying, thank you mom (in her own language). And she jumps up and down everytime we mention Santa Claus.
So we played for a while and then settled everyone down to watch Joy to the World, a Christmas video about the birth of the Savior. The kids asked lots of questions and we talked them through the whole thing and then Stan bore his testimony of Jesus Christ. It was the end of a perfect evening. Stan's parents have been here for about a week and a half and we have truly enjoyed having them here. So it has been extra special tonight with family in town.
Right now Stan and his dad, Mike are putting together the scooters we, I mean, Santa got for the kids. Easier said than done. All of our family has been so generous and the tree is full of gifts we are all sure to enjoy. It is such a magical season and it lifts my spirits. May you all have a very Merry Christmas.

It's not like it's hard...

Okay, blogging isn't hard. So why don't I do it more often? I think it's because I think I should post pictures with every post and it's sometimes a hassle to download pics...Not a good excuse? How about this one. I'm a frazzled mother who is busy cleaning house, feeding kids, knitting a never ending sweater for my husband, and doing whatever else needs to get done.

So I went to Utah last weekend to house hunt. And I flew there with Eliza and no other kiddos. I got in on Friday and stayed until Wednesday. The first day, my sisters and I went to see Twilight. I hadn't been feeling super well when I got in, but I thought it was because I had gotten my wisdom teeth out the week before. But no, it was the stomach flu. I saw about 10 minutes of the movie and then asked my sister to take me home because I was feeling so bad. I barely made it out the front door of the theater before I threw up (with many witnesses). I then proceeded to throw up at least 6 more times that night and I literally wanted to die. I haven't been that sick in years. So that left me drained for the rest of the trip, but I did manage to get to the house that we were looking to buy. It's a fixer upper with a half acre. So after much praying and going back and forth, we've decided to take a job offer in Utah and get out of the Air Force. It is very bittersweet for me, but I feel this is the best for our family, especially our children.

So we have a busy couple of weeks coming up since we have to be out of base housing by Dec. 31. But that's life.

Twilight...

Oh, it is finally here. All these months waiting for my Edward to finally appear on the big screen. I unfortunately will be getting my wisdom teeth out tomorrow so I won't be able to stand in line with all the screaming 14 year old girls on opening night. Maybe I'll sneak in with my puffy face and nobody will notice that I'm a 28 mother of four. But seriously, I hope this movie doesn't ruin the books for me. Stan did say that he would take me to see it. Yeah! Except then I can't giggle and grin while he's there watching me. Oh, to be near my sisters right now. They understand.
